Sree Bhumi Sporting Club, on Canal Street in Lake Town, South Dumdum, has been holding its Durga Puja since 1969. It's built its identity almost entirely around scale and spectacle: nearly every year since the mid-2010s, the club has recreated a famous global landmark as its pandal, at a size and level of detail unusual even by Kolkata's own high standards for theme pandals.
The list of past builds reads like a world tour: the Jagannath Temple (2016), a Baahubali-inspired build (2017), Rani Padmavati's palace (2018), a Chandragupta Maurya palace (2019), the Kedarnath Temple (2020), the Burj Khalifa (2021), Vatican City (2022), Disneyland (2023), the Tirupati Balaji Temple (2024), and a replica of the BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham temple in New Jersey (2025). The consistency of that ambition is a big part of why Sree Bhumi is regularly named among North Kolkata's most-visited pujas.
